Old top radiator hose Got around to replacing the top radiator hose this evening, which started weeping on our last track day. Using the coolant drain plug, we drained off enough coolant into a plastic box, to enable us to remove this hose. The coolant was replaced very recently, so we reused it.
New top radiator hose The new black silicon hose is fitted with new stainless-steel Jubilee clips.

We then went out for a test drive to check the coolant system was working as expected. This is the new MX5 Parts stainless-steel exhaust. Sounds good!

Underseal wheel arches Finally got some decent weather which I meant could do some more work on the car. Some of the wheel arch underseal has been chipped over the years and I removed all the plastic trim to treat any rust and tidy it all up. Today I touched re-applied underseal where it needed doing.

Plastic trim There are two bits of plastic trim to be refitted (each side) inside the rear wheel arches. These were cleaned with a pressure washer first. The larger bits sit at the front of the rear wheel arch and are fitted with four 6mm bolts. The smaller bits seal the back edge of the wheel arch and are fitted using bolts screwed into plastic fittings.
Fitted plastic trim Some of the fixing could be reused but some were too corroded and replaced with stainless steel 6mm bolts.

With this work done we took the car out for a test drive, to try the new MX5 Parts exhaust out on the road for the first time. The sun finally started showing so we took the hard top off and put the roof down.

Orford Quay The test drive turned into a bit of road trip :-) We ended up going all the way to Orford Quay and taking a few photos. Photo taken using the HDR Pro app on an iPhone 6S.

The new exhaust sounds excellent. It is quite loud though :-) It pops on over run too.

Orford Castle We also went across to Orford Castle. This is amazing at this time of the evening, with the low sun lighting up the Castle. Photo taken using the HDR Pro app on an iPhone 6S.
Woodbridge Tide Mill On the way home we also stopped at Woodbridge Tide Mill, just as the sun was setting. Photo taken using the HDR Pro app on an iPhone 6S.

Front shock absorber Working today on the front shock absorbers, to replace the rubber boots and lower bushes. These are harder to remove than the rear shock absorbers. I've written a guide on how to do this.

New bush fitted My Dad took the first shock absorber into friendly, local garage to get the new shock absorber bush fitted.
New rubber boot New rubber boot fitted.
