This device works best on a battery that is not connected to anything, so I am using a battery isolation switch in the boot to disconnect the battery when the car is not in use. This is mounted into a plastic case in the boot and therefore provides an extra level of security as the boot can only be unlocked by using the key. A charge socket is connected directly to the battery (via a 5A fuse) so we don;t have to remove the battery or battery terminals to isolate it or charge it.
