Yoko was bought with tan leather seats and standard seat belts. The plan is to replace these with 'hard shell' GRP buckets seats as these will provide much better support and driver feedback.
Many people assume a hard seat will be uncomfortable but if they are properly shaped, they provide very even support and are very comfortably. A hard seat also maximises the contact area and feedback to the driver. The seat provides more contact with the driver than any other part of a car.
Having acquired an S-reg mk II MX-5 that was rusted beyond recovery, we salvaged the black leather seats from it and installed them in Yoko temporarily as the tan seats had collapsed and lost much of their foam support.
