Chassis

We spent a lot of time looking for a car that had a good chassis and minimal rust. Having got the car up on ramps, it appears to be in very good condition, with some surface rust in places but nothing serious. I am slowly going over the car with a rust treatment, to prolong its life even further.

Floor Rails

My car was undersealed from new and this has helped keep it in good condition. The floor rails have bee slightly squashed in places by people lifting the car incorrectly but there is very little corrosion.

Rear Sills

The rear sills on my car are original and there is no rust. Having stripped out the interior, we can peer down into the sills and they are very clean inside, with no rust visible.

I plan to treat them with Waxoyl anyway.

Protection

Hammerite 5092953 Underbody Seal My Eunos was originally undersealed in Japan but there are a few places where this has chipped and needs attention. We are using Hammerite 5092953 Underbody Seal to make repairs.

Roll Bar

GC Fabrications GG2 roll bar We plan to fit a GC Fabrications GC2 roll bar to the Eunos. The roll bars improves safety but it also improves chassis rigidity and handling.

This roll bar is manufactured from MSA specified CDS tube, zinc primed and finished with a satin black powder coat. This particular model has V-bar bracing for increased strength. It is designed to work with soft tops and is compatible with glass and plastic rear windows. It is also designed to be used with hard tops. The roll bar comes with built in harness bar which allows full seat movement. It comes with a high tensile fixing kit complete with sandwich plates.

This roll bar seems to be highly recommended and GC Fabrications are just 20 miles down the road which is very handy.
